2011-2012 Audition Schedule
Becoming Eleanor
Directed by John Gonzales
Performances: January 27 - February 12, 2012
Auditions: December 4 and 5 at 7:00 pm
Notice from the director: This play, by Marsha Lee Sheiness, is a witty, serio-comic, non-realistic dramatization of the young life of Eleanor of Aquitaine, one of the most amazing women in western history—actually, just in history in general.
The cast will consist of one female and one male lead (18-30s); all other roles covered by a 6 person ensemble (3 female, 3 male, ages open).
Auditions will emphasize dynamic characterization and performance versatility through various exercises and scenarios. Minimal cold reading. Individual appointment a possibility depending upon turnout (these would be set up on-site). I need energized, protean actors who can radically transform themselves through voice, physicality, and demeanor. Dress comfortably, warm up in advance, and be prepared to fully utilize your actor's tools.
